The Perfect Provender Podcast
Finally I can share some exciting news with you… I have launched The Perfect Provender Podcast!
For me, nothing is more relatable and inspiring than hearing another business or person telling their story first hand. Written words can never express the true work, passion and love that goes into creating a wonderful brand or business, but spoken words certainly can.
This is something I have wanted to do for a while, not just from a selfish, personal point of view (I’d love to know the inner workings of some of my favourite local businesses!) but also because of the impact I hope it will have on the bigger picture. Living and working in Yorkshire is a real privilege; there are so many things to be grateful for and one of them is the amount of amazing independents, both new and old. But without our support, these small businesses are constantly threatened by the encroaching super markets and large global brands. So it is through these podcasts, my website and my social media pages I hope to encourage you to support local, small businesses and help you find them!
As well as providing a boost to the local economy, this way of consuming can be much less aggressive and taxing on the environment; reducing food miles, less packaging and better production methods are all part of creating a more sustainable way of living and can be largely done by shopping small and supporting these conscious businesses.
I hope you find my podcasts enjoyable and I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions so please drop me an email with any ideas for businesses you would like to feature, or any feedback on the episodes! The first episode is simply a brief introduction to what I am aiming to cover and includes an introduction to Perfect Provender and my top tips to reducing your waste. Have a listen and don’t forget to look out for the next one; the show should soon be available on Apple Podcasts where you’ll also be able to subscribe! The first full episode will feature Alice Hildred who started The Bishy Weigh, York’s new eco pantry and will be available on the 18th Feb !
